June 15, 1945 -- November 13, 2023

Patricia (Pat) Ann Spears

Patricia Ann Spears (Pat), age 78, was a loving mother of two beautiful
daughters and a dedicated stepson. She was an adoring wife to her late
husband. Patricia transitioned peacefully to be with her Lord on November
13, 2023. Pat was so graceful throughout her journey. She was a witness to
her daughters, stepson, stepdaughter, sisters/brothers, husband, family,
and friends as to what a determined and strong person is; she never
wanted anyone to worry about her.
Pat was born on June 15, 1945, in Dallas, Texas to her mother and father,
Margaret and E.L. Hester.
She married her late husband, Jerry Spears, on February 6, 1981. This union
lasted for 40 years, before Jerry’s passing in June 2021. Pat leaves a lasting
example to her family and friends of her amazing inner strength and
sincere love for everyone she knew. If you knew Pat, then you knew that
she loved unconditionally, and she willingly would do anything and
everything for you. She always made you feel very special. She showed
her daughters, stepson and stepdaughter that God and family are
everything. In addition, she did not hesitate to show you tough love when
she felt you needed it because it was her desire for you to be your very
best.
She will be forever remembered for her kindness toward all and being
loved by so many. Always putting herself last, she was the most generous,
selfless person you will ever know. Pat was always ready to help a
struggling friend or stranger. Her love for animals led her to contribute to
many relief organizations. Her dedication as a hard worker was evident at
Lucent Technologies where she retired after many years of service.
Pat was an avid gardener. She could always be found with her hands in
the dirt, planting flowers. She will also be remembered by her delicious
cooking. She was even told that her place in heaven would be cooking for
God and the Angels.
Pat will truly be missed by her dear daughters, stepson, stepdaughter,
grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces/nephews, family, friends, and
neighbors. Her caretakers from the last couple of years grew to love her
like family.
She was preceded in death by her father, E.L. Hester, mother, Margaret
Hester, sister, Betty McGinnis, brother, Donny Hester, and husband, Jerry
Spears.

She is survived, by her daughters, Twilla and husband Tim Sifford, Tonya
Roland and partner Randy Settle, stepson, Jeff Spears and stepdaughter,
Stacey and husband Jeff Vanderwel. Ten grandchildren, who were the
light of her eyes: Alan Mundrake and wife, Allison, Collin Sifford, Arian
Spears, Elizabeth Spears, Jake Spears, Jordan Spears, Greenleigh Spears,
Fana Vanderwel, Lucy Vanderwel and Boss Vandewel. She is also
survived by brother, Ken Hester and sister, Linda Chambers.

Services for Patricia Spears will be held November 17, 2023 at 12:00 PM at
Eastgate Funeral Home, 12973 LBJ Freeway, Garland, TX, 75041.  Visitation will be Thursday November 16th, 2023 from 5:00-7:00 PM.

I will always remember Pat's lovely smile and her strong desire to always join her friends and fellow residents by participating in as many daily activities as possible. She had an esprit de corps and enthusiasm to make the most of each day that was contagious to residents and workers alike. Pat loved her Lord Jesus and never missed a weekly Bible study, and you would always find her there...front and center. I would like to share a version of a quote from the great evangelist D.L. Moody, which I believe is very appropriate for Miss Pat right now: "You may read or hear that Pat Spears has passed into death. Don’t you believe a word of it. Pat is more alive now than ever before. Pat has just changed her address. She has gone into the presence of God and her Savior Jesus." Miss Pat, we miss you, but thank you for the example of living life well and living it for your Lord Jesus.
